- Create, communicate and implement the company-wide manufacturing data & controls strategy - Work closely with process engineers, automation engineers, consultants and suppliers to define Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solution architectures and develop detailed design specifications- Support the development of the manufacturing control system infrastructure leading to manufacturing products that meet or exceed cost, quality, features, functionality and performance- Prepare scopes of work and manage MES contractors as required to complete work on budget within project timelines- Performing MES/SCADA system design, solution and application design, technical support, implementation and maintenance- Responsible for the accuracy of system data through process evaluation and validation- Provide functional requirements through known industry standards, technical concepts- Maintain and provide trouble shooting for MES and factory IT system- Report and recommend on manufacturing data and controls matters to Management- Provide guidance and expert advice on manufacturing control systems to other technical groups and non-technical groups
- Bachelor Degree in a computer science or software engineering- A minimum of 2 year of experience and hand-on in MES system design- Hands-on experience in MES technologies, including automated data collection, historian applications, visualization, industrial control, automation and measurement systems, quality and efficiency in manufacturing- Hand-on experience with : 1) Ignition software is highly preferable 2) Industry standard control systems (eg Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens, etc). 3) Industrial SCADA systems (eg Ignition, Wonderware, etc). 4) SQL server 5) Online and offline manufacturing metrics (eg vision, thickness measurement, defect detection, etc).- Experience designing, specifying and implementing a manufacturing execution system.- Knowledge of best practices in automation and control system, manufacturing data collection systems, and operations management systems - Experience with ERP interfacing (e.g. SAP) - Familiar with computer peripherals used in manufacturing - Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC, Kepware, Ethernet IP, etc- Competency with PLC programming is a plus - Ability to prepare contingency plans and logically work through complex issues, high paced environment and pressure filled atmosphere- Fluent in English, both writing and speaking- Excellent communication skill and able to across working field such as manufacturing, engineering, contractor, suppliers, business and administration- Knowledge of ISA-88 and ISA-95- Demonstrated ability to understand complex and new manufacturing processes. Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships
